Register for the Next #SolarChat on 6/12/13: Solar Energy Storage & Emergency Preparedness

Is energy storage the “holy grail” for solar? Save the date for the next #SolarChat, June 12th, when we will discuss that question and others about Solar Energy Storage and Emergency Preparedness.

Our focus will be on such issues as battery back-up technology, the perception of what solar can and cannot do in terms of outages, and the need to address the public’s concerns about future super storms and how solar fits into this picture.

Raina Russo (@EcoOutfitters and @ChatSolar), #SolarChat’s founder, will be joined by Mark Cerasuolo, senior marketing manager at OutBack Power Technologies (@OutBackPower).

Keep watch for details, as well as the announcement of additional panelist.

Will you be there, too? Register now!

More About Our Panelist:

Mark Cerasuolo is the senior marketing manager at OutBack Power, a designer and manufacturer of balance-of-system components for renewable and other energy applications. More recently he served as marketing lead for Washington State’s Department of Commerce, where he worked to accomplish the first use of a social media platform to launch a government funding initiative.

For those new to Twitter, a hashtag (#) is an easy way to find and follow people who are tweeting about a certain topic. #SolarChat, founded by EcoOutfitters.net’s Raina Russo, has a simple mission: Curious consumers, energy experts, and installation professionals can tune into Twitter at the designated chat time to share advice and resources, weigh in on discussion topics, pose questions or concerns, and work together to advance solar awareness.

#SolarChat is held on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EST, with special sessions held periodically. See EcoOutfitters.net for more information.

For Raina Brett Russo, taking care of the environment is a necessity, not an option. Having grown up in Israel, a place where conservation is required and solar hot water heating is the norm, Raina knows the importance of solar energy. Through her work with the EcoOutfitters.net team, Raina found a way to help grow the solar industry in a significant way. As the founder and host of #SolarChat, a bi-monthly "gathering" on Twitter, Raina and her team have created an engaged solar think-tank community that comes together regularly for collaboration and networking with the ultimate goal in mind of spreading the solar message.
